ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bThe Training and Employment of Disabled Persons Board became operational with the proclamation of the Training and Employment of Disabled Persons Act in 1996. \u00a0The Board caters for the training and employment of persons with disabilities and operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity (Social Security and National Solidarity Division).<\/span><\/p><div><div><div><strong class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">MISSION:<\/strong><\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">To promote and sustain the integration of persons with disabilities in all aspects of society so that they can also enjoy meaningful and fulfilling lives.<br \/><\/span><\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div><div><strong class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">VISION: Valuing People with disabilities<\/strong><\/div><\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">Create equal opportunities to mainstream persons with disabilities in training and employment.\u200b<br \/><\/span><\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\"><br \/><strong>F<\/strong><strong>UNCTIONS OF THE BOARD:\u200b<\/strong><\/span><\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To prevent discrimination against persons with disabilities resulting from or arising out of their disability.<\/span><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To provide, or make arrangements, for the provision of vocational training to persons with disabilities.<\/span><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To act as a facilitator in providing opportunities for work and entrepreneurship.<\/span><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To work jointly with private sector\/parastatal bodies\/NGOs to promote training and employment of persons with disabilities.<\/span><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To tap into all available resources for the benefit of persons with disabilities.<\/span><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To work towards an inclusive society.<\/span><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">\u2022\u00a0To value\/support\/sustain persons with disabilities to achieve their full
